NutriSystem Review
Alethe Denis is following the NutriSystem diet plan, and was kind enough to answer some questions for me. You can follow her progress – and offer your support and encouragement – via Twitter at http://twitter.com/Leafies42
Cindy: Did you find the ordering process convenient?
Alethe: I was able to Order quickly and easily over the phone. The sales rep was super friendly and offered to help me select the food that I wanted. He went out of his way to recommend items and ask questions about my taste in food. I really appreciated his help.
Cindy: How would you describe the food quality?
Alethe: I would say there are about 4-5 entrees that I did not want to try as I was allergic to the lactose or did not like the sound of it. I am not a fan of the Asian or Mexican flavored items only due to the fact that they did not sit well in my stomach. Overall I am very satisfied with the flavor and over all enjoyment of the food. I love the pasta, chicken and most beef dishes. I can honestly say it kills my cravings an fills me up. I would give most an 8 out of 10 overall they exceeded my expectations.
Cindy: Do they have a good selection?
Alethe: The selection is pretty large with a really good variety of foods. I revised my auto delivery order last night and choosing only the foods I really like I still have plenty of dishes to choose from each day. This sounds kind of silly but I get excited to pick my dinner and desserts each evening. That’s another thing I like… I can change my order each month as many times as I need to to make sure I get what I want via their website 24/7.
Cindy: Have you used any other similar services, and how does NutriSystem compare?
Alethe: I have not used any other diet program in the past. I have had friends who did weight watchers and Jenny Craig but never seemed happy… Then I had a friend do nutrisystem and she not only lost the weight but she recommended it to me and was very happy overall… So I decided to take a leap of faith and I have to say it’s one of the best things I have ever done for myself.
Cindy: Any other thoughts you have, or anything you’d like to see them do differently.
Here are some other NutriSystem facts you might be interested in. The cost of food begins at about $11 per day and they offer free shipping, which makes them the least expensive of the programs I looked at. To be honest, I don’t think I can buy groceries that inexpensively, so that alone is a good reason to check them out. Alethe told me that she does supplement her NutriSystem meals with fresh fruits and vegetables, but even with that added cost she figures she’s saving money on her grocery bill every month.
NutriSystem does offer vegetarian and diabetic choices as well as the standard low calorie meals. They do not have low-carb meals at this time, though all their bread choices like dinner rolls and biscuits are whole grain.
